DANRHO stands for a unique combination of decades of tradition, modern expertise, and proven quality in martial arts. Especially in the field of judo, but also for ju jutsu and Brazilian jiu-jitsu, DANRHO offers products for athletes of all performance levels – from beginners to world champions. Numerous top athletes rely on the quality and safety of DANRHO products, which are manufactured according to strict standards.
Already in 1920, the company founder Alfred Rhode – a pioneer of judo in Germany – began to inspire people for the Japanese martial art of judo. He was a co-founder of the European Judo Union, which is still actively supported by DANRHO today.
In 1952, he founded the German Dan Collegium and introduced a new mat type, the Rhode Tatami mat. The Rhode Tatami mats are produced in-house according to strict quality criteria and the requirements of the IJF, and have stood for extensive safety and reliability in martial arts for decades.
The brand name DANRHO was introduced in 1961. The logo shows two figures facing each other and bowing (jap. Ritsu-rei). They symbolize respect and tradition in judo.
Over the decades, the brand DANRHO has developed extensive know-how and competence from its specialty in judo, and is now hardly imaginable without martial arts.
